Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer in Gare District

Police in Luxembourg City have arrested a suspected drug dealer in the Gare district after officers witnessed what appeared to be a street-level drug transaction. The arrest took place on Rue du Fort Neipperg, an area that has remained under close police attention due to repeated concerns over drug-related activity.

According to police, officers observed an exchange between two individuals on Tuesday evening and became suspicious that narcotics were involved. After the interaction, both individuals walked away separately, prompting officers to stop and question them.

During the check, police found drugs, cash, and a mobile phone on the suspected dealer. The second person involved in the exchange was also reportedly found carrying narcotics, supporting officers’ suspicions about the transaction.

Following the arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and later brought before an examining magistrate. Authorities said the case forms part of ongoing efforts to tackle street-level drug dealing and improve public safety in the area.

The Gare district has been the focus of several police operations in recent months as authorities continue to respond to security concerns raised by residents and commuters. Officials say targeted patrols and enforcement actions will continue in the neighbourhood in the coming weeks.
