Luxembourg Supports Fifth Evacuation Flight Bringing Citizens to Brussels

Luxembourg has taken part in a new evacuation mission to help bring European citizens back safely to Europe. The fifth repatriation flight linked to the operation arrived in Brussels on 8 and 9 March, marking another step in the ongoing effort to assist nationals stranded abroad during a crisis.

The operation involved close cooperation between Luxembourg and Belgium. A military transport aircraft from the joint Belgian-Luxembourg A400M unit helped transport passengers from the Middle East to a safe transit location. From there, evacuees boarded a civilian repatriation flight to Brussels.

More than a hundred passengers from several European countries were evacuated as part of this mission. The flights were carried out by mixed Belgian-Luxembourg crews, highlighting the strong operational cooperation between the two countries in international crisis situations.

After landing in Brussels, the passengers were assisted in continuing their journeys to Luxembourg and other European destinations. Authorities worked to ensure that the process was safe and well coordinated, with support from diplomatic and emergency services.

Luxembourg officials say they remain ready to organize further operations if needed. The government continues to work closely with European partners to guarantee the safety of citizens abroad and provide assistance in difficult situations.
