Luxembourg’s hunting season officially opens this Saturday, marking a time of increased caution for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians near forested and rural areas.
Running until the end of January, the season coincides with a higher risk of wildlife-related accidents, as animals are more likely to cross roads unexpectedly. The Hunters’ Federation and the Road Safety Association are urging drivers to slow down, especially along forest edges and open fields.
Pedestrians and cyclists are also advised to stay alert in areas marked with signs indicating an active battue (organised hunt).

The full schedule of battues can be viewed on Luxembourg’s Geoportail website.
Currently, the Hunters’ Federation counts around 2,100 members across the country.
