Asia Travelers Drive Europe’s Tourism Growth in 2026
LuxembourgPosted on 20 February 2026 by Team · 1 min readEurope’s tourism outlook for 2026 is looking strong, thanks especially to rising visitor numbers from China and India. Countries like Spain, France, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg are expected to benefit from this trend, as travellers from these two Asian markets bring fresh demand and spending power to European destinations.
The European Travel Commission forecasts overall international arrivals to Europe could rise by more than 6 %, largely because of China’s projected 28 % growth in outbound travel and India’s 9 % increase.
Spain, one of the continent’s most visited countries, recently recorded nearly 96.8 million foreign visitors in 2025, showing continued interest in European cultural, beach and urban tourism.
Travel experts say improved flight connections, multilingual services, and tailored tourism offerings are key reasons Asian travellers are choosing Europe, with many seeking rich cultural experiences and luxury travel.
This shift in visitor patterns is expected to help the tourism industry grow economically and meet the rising global demand for international travel in 2026.
