Temporary Safety Works to Begin at Place de l’Europe in Kirchberg

From 3 to 8 November 2025, construction work will take place at Place de l’Europe in Kirchberg as part of a series of safety tests.

According to the safety plan, the project will involve the installation of physical barriers around the square. While pedestrian access will largely be maintained, overall accessibility to Place de l’Europe will be reduced during this period. The area will also be closed to cyclists for the duration of the works.

The “Trois Glands” car park will be closed on 5 November, while the “Place de l’Europe” car park will remain accessible only to drivers arriving from Kirchberg.

Authorities have advised pedestrians to keep a safe distance from the barbed-wire barriers to avoid potential harm or injury.

Officials clarified that the safety tests are limited to infrastructure installation — no police drills or operational deployments will take place. To document the process, police drones will be operating over the site throughout the works.
