Musée de L’Ardoise

Musée de l’Ardoise – Haut-Martelange offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore Luxembourg’s historic slate industry through interactive exhibitions, guided tours, and underground mine visits. Located in the former slate-working industrial complex in Haut-Martelange, the museum preserves an important part of the country’s industrial heritage and welcomes visitors of all ages.

Spread across a large historical site with more than 20 buildings, the museum allows visitors to discover how slate was extracted, processed, and transported in the past. 

Guided tours take guests through underground galleries and workshops where tools were made and used by workers in the slate industry.

Available in multiple languages including English, French, Luxembourgish, and Dutch. Reservations are recommended for guided visits and group activities.
