Catan-lovers in Luxembourg. It’s about time we settled this once and for all - who's got it?
We invite you to a very special, inaugural edition of the Catan Settlers Battle of Luxembourg (CSBL), where you can compete for the glory of being crowned the Catan-Duke of Luxembourg.
How the tournament will work
It’s pretty straightforward, all you need to do is play the best Catan game you’ve ever played in your life, back-to-back. Here’s how the tournament will go:
Once you sign up, you will be randomly allocated to a pool of 2-4 other Catan players; Meet online, or in-person to play 2 games of Catan (detailed instructions will be emailed); Share results of your games with us; top 16 players proceed to the knockout stages
Knock-out rounds to be held in Respawn Bar.
Winners proceed up the bracket until there’s one winner. First place wins a special prize / trophy and more importantly, boasting rights until the next tournament. 2nd and 3rd place prizes will also be awarded.
The schedule of the tournament is as follows:
27th Feb - Registrations open
11th March - Close of registrations
12-16th March - Allocation of groups
1﻿7th to 25th March - Group stage games
2﻿6th March - Announcement of knock-out round finalists
1st &amp; 2nd April - Semis &amp; Finals at Respawn

Catan Settlers Battle of Luxembourg 

For fans and guitar enthusiasts worldwide, Tommy Emmanuel’s status as an 
inspiration for the contemporary six-string scene is indisputable – and rightly 
so, given the instrumental and compositional superlatives that the Australian 
has invariably offered on countless studio albums and during innumerable stage 
performances.
Tommy Emmanuel has been nominated for a Grammy twice and referred to by Eric Clapton as “the greatest guitar player I’ve ever seen”. He is an exceptional musician, 
who has played his way to a whole new level in the acoustic subgenre. Emmanuel 
can certainly do it all: sophisticated masterpieces, stylistically diverse 
original compositions and cover versions of idols like The Beatles, Madonna and 
Billy Joel. In 2023, Emmanuel will once again embark on a world tour – this 
time, with his ‘Best of Tommysongs’, an artistic review that provides both a 
retrospective and music of the future.
A diverse repertoire will be offered during ‘An evening with Tommy Emmanuel’ that includes Tommy classics that are absolute evergreens, along with the odd 
surprise. It will moreover provide a sneak preview of what Mr Fingerstyle has 
up his sleeve for 2023 and beyond.

Tommy Emmanuel – An Evening With Tommy Emmanuel, with Special Guest : Mike Dawes

Tim Kamrad has reinvented himself and is now KAMRAD. He achieved his breakthrough with his pop anthem “I Believe”, which stormed the European charts upon its release back in spring 2022.&nbsp;
The track sparked a viral wildfire with several thousand TikTok creations, millions of 
video views and over 50 million streams (and counting!) on digital music 
platforms. “I Believe” was one of the most played songs on the radio all across 
Europe for months and celebrated phenomenal airplay chart successes, including 
#1 in Germany, #1 in Poland and top 10 placements in Austria and 
Switzerland as well as countless other countries.&nbsp;
The gifted artist is not only a talented multi-instrumentalist and stylistically confident 
songwriter, but also a lively and entertaining live act. He laughs, jokes and 
interacts with the audience from the moment he sets foot on stage. For Kamrad, 
performing on stage is the main reason he began making music in the first 
place. He left no doubt about this as support act for German pop singer Nico 
Santos and at countless open-air concerts and festivals. &nbsp;
From 2023,KAMRAD will headline his own European club tour with his band. He will 
reap the rewards of all his hard work, courage and success with “I Believe”.&nbsp;
On 5 May 2023, KAMRAD will of course also stop off at the opderschmelz cultural centre in Dudelange to put on an unforgettable, high-powered and energetic show for

Kamrad

He’s travelled many thousands of kilometres, is over 70 years old, 
released his thirtieth studio album entitled “Ride” back in May and is now 
coming to the Dudelange cultural centre for the second time: Walter Trout.
Trout is often mentioned in the same breath as Hendrix and Clapton. The blues rock 
legend had a tough time before he launched his celebrated solo career back in 
the late 1980s. There were self-destructive years as a stand-in lead guitarist 
for legendary blues musicians of the likes of John Lee Hooker, Big Mama 
Thornton and the Hells Angels-controlled formation Canned Heat. Phases in his 
life overshadowed by dark events and excesses. Trout explains the latter with 
his difficult childhood and the terrifying presence of his stepfather. And it 
is just these experiences that influenced his music for his latest studio 
album. Though these memories are from long ago, their echo is seemingly endless. 
With “Ride” as an emotional outlet, he seeks to reconcile with his past, 
embrace his future and arrive in the ever-evolving present. A tempestuous album 
that in part serves to process trauma. Angry, anguished, yearnful and 
emotional. But also topical and differentiated when Trout denounces the many 
lies in social media in songs like “High is Low”.
With Trout, not only is a blues great coming to Dudelange, but also an excellent 
storyteller and a bon vivant who has experienced life in all its facets. An 
evening dedicated to the blues and to grand metaphors.
