Starting Thursday 5 June at 9:00 a.m., members of the public can apply online for a limited number of free tickets to attend the official National Day ceremony in Luxembourg, taking place on Sunday 23 June.
The formal event, held at Philharmonie Luxembourg in Kirchberg, is one of the highlights of the country’s National Day celebrations. While the audience will include the Grand Ducal family, as well as government officials, diplomats, and other dignitaries, a small number of seats are reserved for the public.
The ceremony, organised by the Ministry of State, begins at 9:45 a.m. and tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis through the government’s official website.
This year’s celebration carries added significance: it will mark Grand Duke Henri’s final National Day before he passes the throne to his son, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, in October. Although the Grand Duke’s real birthday is in April, 23 June has long been established as the country’s official day of celebration.
If you don’t manage to secure a ticket, don’t worry — Luxembourg will be buzzing with parades, fireworks, concerts, and more throughout the long weekend.
