With the rise of social media and automation, loneliness is a real thing. This is causing people to become sad, and feel devoid of relationships and lonely alone at home. This is bad for the society as it increases crime, number of unhealthy people, medical costs, unhappiness and lessens productivity, all of which will result in the decline of the country as a whole. Britain has taken this seriously and has appointed a loneliness minister this year. You can read about it here: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/17/world/europe/uk-britain-loneliness.html Now, NY times is profiling the Americans who are affected by loneliness. Have a read. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/23/opinion/loneliness-political-polarization.html If you are feeling alone, don't fret. Many of us do feel alone in this current society. It is not a disease, you are not less good because you feel lonely. It's just that the society we are building now is not helping us build quality relationships. Le us do our part and be friendly to one another, forgive mistakes, appreciate good deeds, and this Christmas, spend time with someone who's not with family. Leave us your comment on how we at Luxembourg expats site can do better to help you build quality relationships. Leave your comment, we look forward to read.
