A European Under-21 football qualifying match between France and Luxembourg was postponed after the Luxembourg U21 team’s bus was involved in a traffic accident in Brittany, France. The vehicle reportedly left the road after the driver became unwell, leaving the team shaken.
Several players, staff members, and the driver suffered minor injuries, and emergency services helped transport those affected to local medical facilities. Because of this, UEFA agreed to delay the match.
Originally scheduled in Lorient as part of the Euro U21 2027 qualifiers, the game has now been pushed back to October 3, 2026, giving the team time to recover from the shock and ensure everyone’s safety.
Both football federations expressed their support for the Luxembourg squad and praised the quick response from first responders on the scene.
