Cosy Chalets Bring Autumn and Winter Magic to Kirchberg

LuxembourgPosted on 03 November 2025 by Team

The festive season has officially arrived in Kirchberg, where seven charming chalets have popped up along rue Edward-Steichen, transforming the area into a mini autumn–winter market. Set up by Ugo&Co, the same team behind the popular Chez Ugo “street market” concept launched last year, this new installation blends local food, crafts, and festive fun for the months ahead.

At the heart of the market stands one large chalet, surrounded by six smaller ones, all designed to recreate a warm, alpine-inspired atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Christmas villages.

A Celebration of Local Flavours
Food takes center stage at this seasonal market. The main chalet offers a mouthwatering selection of hearty dishes — from rib steak, raclette, and tartiflette to Mont d’Or cheese, Morteau and Toulouse sausages, and the beloved Luxembourgish bouneschlupp. Sweet tooths won’t be left out either, with pavlova, tiramisu, crème brûlée, tarte Tatin, and chocolate mousse among the indulgent desserts.

The six smaller chalets will feature many of these favourites alongside other regional specialities such as gromperekichelcher, Boxemännchen, pretzels (classic or butter-filled), and salmon on potato. Collaborations with Brasserie Beaulieu and Restaurant Joslet promise quality and authenticity in every bite.

Visitors can also pick up local artisanal products and gifts, including Kirchberg-made honey and handcrafted items — perfect for holiday gifting.

Entertainment and Holiday Spirit
Beyond food, the festive setup offers plenty of fun for all ages. Returning attractions from last year include the Instagram and Photo Buses, along with two pétanque courts and wooden games. Families can look forward to visits from Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus, adding extra seasonal cheer.

Opening Hours and Duration

  • Small chalets: Tuesday–Saturday, 12 p.m.–10 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m.–5 p.m.
  • Large chalet: Wednesday–Friday, 12 p.m.–2 p.m. & 6 p.m.–10 p.m.; Saturday, 6 p.m.–10 p.m.

The Kirchberg chalets will remain open until January 31, 2026, with organizers hinting at an extension — “and more if affinities,” as their brochure playfully puts it.

With its cosy atmosphere, rich flavours, and festive charm, this new autumn–winter street market promises to make Kirchberg one of Luxembourg’s warmest seasonal destinations this year.
