In its weekly update for November 24–30, 2025, the Direction de la Santé in Luxembourg reported a 23% drop in confirmed COVID-19 cases falling from 66 to 51. Meanwhile, Influenza (flu) cases more than doubled during the same period, surging from 79 to 173 — a 119% increase, with nearly all identified as Influenza A.
Infections from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) also rose modestly from 89 to 93; since October, around 75% of RSV cases have involved children under nine years old.
Despite fewer confirmed COVID-19 cases, wastewater surveillance showed a slight uptick in SARS-CoV-2 viral concentration, and the variants XFG and its sub-variant XFG.3 remain dominant.
The contrasting trends declining COVID-19, a flu surge, and ongoing RSV — underscore the shifting landscape of respiratory illnesses as the winter season deepens.
