We are looking for healthy, adult residents of Luxembourg to participate in our controlled-diet intervention study (Luxembourgish Fiber Cohort or "Lux-FiCo"). This study, led by the Eco-Immunology and Microbiome Group at Luxembourg Institute of Health, will investigate the connection between dietary fiber intake and gut microbiome composition and activity.
You should be 18-55 years old, BMI between 18.5-29.9 kg/m2, a resident of Luxembourg, nonsmoker, no antibiotics use in the past 3 months, no known acute or chronic disease, and you must be willing to consume an “omnivorous” (plant- and animal-based) diet with 3 full meals per day. If you do not meet these criteria, you could still be placed on a waitlist, so we encourage you to contact our study nurses to fill out a pre-screening survey (EN, FR, DE): email@example.com
Participants will be delivered carefully designed meals by a professional caterer with high (or low) fiber content for 1 week (Diet 1), then switch to a low (or high) fiber diet (Diet 2) after a washout period of 1 week. Meals can be delivered to your home, workplace, or one of our designated pickup points.
Participation in this study will last for one month, with a weekly 1 hour exam visit in Strassen or Esch-sur-Alzette (your choice). In addition to the 2 weeks of prepared meals, at the end of the study you will recieve a 50 EUR voucher to thank you for your time.
