What: The folklore group Vallée des Sept Châteaux is holding a work-shop to promote Luxembourg's rich cultural heritage.
Date: 17 October 2021 Time: 10:00 to 15:00 (2 x 2 hour sessions, 1 hour for lunch)
Location: Community Centre, 1 Rue du Coin L-7597 Reckange (Mersch)
Registration: email to khristiankowalski@gmail.com
Why: fitness, fun, social interaction and cultural education
Based in Mersch, the aim of the group is to preserve folk dance as a form of intangible cultural heritage and to pass it on to future genera-tions. The dances performed range from the middle ages to the 19th century and were danced in Luxembourg and in the regions that used to compose the former Duchy of Luxembourg. . Our dances are repro-duced as authentically as possible, simultaneously encompassing tradi-tion and appealing to younger generations with the modern slogan:Lët'z Folk!
The workshop is free of charge and no skills are necessary.
Proof of a valid COVID19 vaccination is required.
The workshop will be held in two parts, with a lunch break between 12:00 and 13:00. For lunch we will show some videos of the group "in action" and eat together as a group. We plan to order food for delivery from Dimmi Si in Mersch, but if you want to pack a lunch you can. Dimmi Si menus are here http://www.dimmisi.lu/cartes.html
