Description

This course is suitable for babies aged 1 to 6 months. The course consists of 4-5 sessions.

Baby massage is based on specific massage techniques that support your baby’s development. Through the massage, mothers and fathers gain confidence in handling their baby and a better understanding of their needs.

Baby massage helps parents connect with their baby, understand them better, contribute to their well-being, and promote their body awareness.

Babies can be massaged from a very early age, just a few weeks after birth, once daily routines have settled a little. It is important to maintain a certain rhythm and schedule for the massage. During the massage, all external distractions
should be eliminated (turn off phones, doorbells, etc.). You can create a special atmosphere with candles, scents, and music to enjoy a cosy, bonding time with your baby.

„Love goes under the skin and speaks from the heart through our hands.“ (F. Leboyer)

Course Content
In our course, we show and explain the massage techniques. We discuss how they can be used purposefully to support your baby’s development without overwhelming them.

Each session lasts 1½ hours, giving you plenty of time to settle in, prepare your baby, undress them, feed or breastfeed if needed, change nappies, soothe them, and, of course, massage! There is also plenty of time for questions and discussion.

The benefits of regular massage are remarkable: babies become calmer, sleep more easily, suffer less from colic, and cry less.

During a massage session, only one person should massage at a time (i.e., not alternating between mother and father). Of course, both parents can massage their baby, but it’s best to establish a rhythm—for example, the mother during the week and the father at weekends. This helps the baby get used to being massaged by different people. Everyone has their own unique massage style.
Fathers often massage more firmly and confidently, which most babies
enjoy!
